my first stab at Indian Cuisine was at this elegant establishment. i wasn’t sure what to expect, but tried it with my best friend for our newly adopted tradition; date night during Restaurant Week DC.

if you’re unfamiliar with Restaurant Week DC, it happens every August and over 100 restaurants across the DC area offer three-course meals on a carefully selected menu for brunch, lunch, and dinner. brunch and lunch are $22 and dinner $35.

i made us reservations prior as this is a busy time for restaurants. as we waited on our table, we ordered a bottle of wine as it could get pretty pricy by the glass. our table was soon ready and once seated, we looked at the restaurant week menu and needed more time to decide on what we wanted.

i decided on a calamari, a spicy lamb dish, and mango crème brûlée. Bombay Club made me a believer in Indian food and i cannot wait to return. the flavors were out of this world and the elegant setting is the icing on the cake.
